When you run out
Generation stops, everything else keeps working, and nothing you already made is affected.
Run a workspace dry and generation stops. That is the whole consequence, and the list of things it leaves alone is longer than the list of things it takes. ## What keeps working - **Every board stays open**, editable, and shared exactly as it was - **Everything you already made stays** on the canvas and in the library - **The local tools carry on**: remeshing, retopology, pathtraced rendering, sculpting, Precise Trace vectorizing, the merge suite - **Collaboration is unaffected**. Cursors, comments, notes, frames, sharing An empty balance is a pause on new generation rather than a lock on your work. ## What stops Any run that would call a model provider. The Run button reports that the workspace cannot cover it rather than failing halfway, so you never lose a partial job to an empty balance. Hitting that wall opens Plans and Pricing directly, because the only two useful answers are a top-up or a plan change and both live there. :::caution[In a team, one person can empty it for everybody] A shared pool is shared in both directions. A heavy afternoon of video renders can stop the rest of the team generating, and the balance in the top bar is the only warning anyone gets. On a team workspace it is worth saying out loud when you are about to do something expensive. ::: ## Storage is a separate wall Credits and storage run out independently, and hitting the storage limit feels different: uploads and new results are refused rather than generation being priced out. The check happens **before** the upload starts, so you get told rather than watching a progress bar fail at the end. Your storage allowance comes with your plan, and a team workspace pools a much larger allowance across everyone in it. See [your storage in one place](/docs/using-plnty/the-asset-library/your-storage-in-one-place/) for what actually consumes it. ## Getting going again Three routes, depending on the shape of the problem: 1. **Top up**, when this month ran heavier than usual and the plan is otherwise right 2. **Change plan**, when it is not a one-off 3. **Move credits in from a personal wallet**, when a team pool is empty and you have your own For a team, the third one is the fast unblock while a purchase is being approved. :::note[Unused credits carry over] They are not reset to your monthly figure at each renewal, so a quiet month leaves you something in hand for a heavy one. There is a ceiling on how much accumulates, and it depends on your plan. Credits you bought outright sit outside that ceiling. Current allowances are on [plnty.app/pricing](https://plnty.app/pricing). :::Run a workspace dry and generation stops. What keeps working
Section titled “What keeps working”- Every board stays open, editable, and shared exactly as it was
- Everything you already made stays on the canvas and in the library
- The local tools carry on: remeshing, retopology, pathtraced rendering, sculpting, Precise Trace vectorizing, the merge suite
- Collaboration is unaffected. Cursors, comments, notes, frames, sharing
An empty balance is a pause on new generation rather than a lock on your work.

Getting going again
Section titled “Getting going again”Three routes, depending on the shape of the problem:
- Top up, when this month ran heavier than usual and the plan is otherwise right
- Change plan, when it is not a one-off
- Move credits in from a personal wallet, when a team pool is empty and you have your own
For a team, the third one is the fast unblock while a purchase is being approved.
