Live AI render
The model restyles your 3D viewport continuously while you move it, so you steer the look instead of waiting to see it.
**AI Render (beta)** restyles your viewport while you move it. Orbit the object and the restyled version follows, continuously, so the feedback loop is a second rather than a minute. It runs on Lucy 2.5, and it is one of the two engines in the render window's dropdown. The other is **Pathtracing**. ## The difference from the pathtracer The pathtracer answers "what does this object actually look like". AI Render answers "what could this shot become", and it answers it while your hand is still on the mouse. | | Pathtracer | AI Render | |---|---|---| | Runs | On your GPU | On a provider | | Costs | Nothing | Credits, by session | | Speed | Seconds to minutes per frame | Continuous | | Output | An accurate render | A restyled interpretation | | Good for | The real thing | Finding the look | ## Driving it The panel on the right holds everything: - **Prompt**, the direction you want the restyle to take - **Reference**, an image whose look it should follow - **Enhance**, which fills out a thin prompt - **Aspect**, the shape of the output frame - **Backdrop and background**, what sits behind the object Session controls sit at the bottom: start, pause, stop. A session runs until you stop it, which is the thing to keep an eye on. :::caution[A session is metered while it runs] Unlike a one-shot generation, this bills for the time it is live. Stop the session when you stop steering, rather than leaving it running while you go and look at something else. ::: ## What it is good at **Finding a direction fast.** Many looks in the time one pathtraced render takes, which is the right trade when you do not yet know what you want. **Answering "what if this were".** Ceramic instead of metal, dusk instead of studio, illustrated instead of photographic. You see it as you say it. **Showing somebody.** Turning the object while the style holds is a more convincing demonstration than a still. ## What it is not It is an interpretation rather than a render. Proportions can drift, small details are reinvented per frame, and it will not hold a logo or a piece of text reliably.
